A Letter to My Past Self

A Letter to My Past Self

Dear Me,

March 4th, 2021. You found out you are pregnant, and, in that moment, a lot of things began to change and look different for you.

Beauty looked different…
Health looked different…
Rest looked different…
Joy looked different…
Strength looked different…

This truly became your redefining moment. Everything you thought you knew, everything you thought you had an understanding of, slowly began to change.

Beauty looked different…

Beauty started to have a much deeper meaning to you. Your beauty didn’t lie in what your body looked like or the things you did with it. Rather, your beauty began to lie in what your body was capable of. Your beauty was the fact that you were growing a baby in you, in your womb. Your beauty became how deep you loved. Your beauty became how you took care of your beautiful baby growing in your belly.

Health looked different…

Your health was more than just you now. Your health and everything you did now mattered even more. You became a mother on March 4th, 2021 and immediately became responsible for another life. Every choice you made, everything you ate or did, had a bigger impact than ever before.

Rest looked different…

Rest had such a deeper and more impactful meaning. You got better at listening to what your body needed; often times, it was rest. Through this, you felt less guilt about resting more often; it’s what you needed. And, maybe even more importantly, it’s what your baby needed.

Joy looked different…

Joy looked vastly different. Your joy wasn’t so materialistic anymore. You found joy in the little moments. Your joy was found in sweet memories you made with Alex. Your joy was found in the life that was growing inside of you. Your joy was found in the Father as He was forming such a beautiful bundle of joy in your womb. Your joy lies in seeing your family grow and the life you are about to impact. Your joy is seeing this beautiful baby girl get stronger and stronger every day. Your joy is seeing your family grow!

Strength looked different…

Strength. Strength has a whole new meaning. Your mental strength, emotional strength, and physical strength will change drastically. When it’s time for your baby girl to be born, you’ll unlock a new mental and physical strength you never knew you had. It’s the strength of a mother, willing to do anything and everything she knows of to keep her baby safe. You feel so strong knowing you truthfully would do absolutely anything for your little one. Strength is so much more than just physically strong. Being a mother, you carry a load that’s heavy, but not impossible. The love you feel for your family will make you strong.

My redefining moment.

March 4th, 2021 was my redefining moment. It was the moment my life truly changed forever…

What’s yours?
