As I lay in bed at night the thoughts of “I wish I could have my bed back” start to creep in. The thoughts and feelings of being so exhausted from what the day brought and being touched out consume me.
But a gentle reminder begins to flood my heart.
“You will never be this small again.”
It’s an undeniable fact that you sleep best next to your father and I. You feel the safest in our arms. You feel the most at peace being surrounded by the two people who love you so much.
Little one, as you grow older, you will become more independent… you’ll learn how to do things on your own, you’ll experiment with things and learn to love the life you have… I know you’ll take advantage of all of your opportunities.
As life changes, I know one thing for certain…
I will never look back and regret you sleeping in our arms at the end of the day.
And as you grow older, one thing I pray for you is this…
That one of the safest places you’ll have will always be in our arms.
~ We love you, little one. ~
